Would you guys prefer it if dogs continued to teleport or if they stayed pace with you?

I was watching a letsplay and suddenly thought of this. I get why they teleport, but sometimes I feel like it would be so much better if they could just kept up with the player more often.

Personally I'd love to have dogs (and other tamed animals) keep the pace and walk side-by-side with me more often than teleporting to me, but what do you guys think?
