Why doesn't mojang just reduce the tedium of enchanting if they want people to use an enchanting table instead of making villagers even more tedious t

Like the reason people use villagers is just because you only need to go through the tedious set up once, and then you never have to worry about rng with enchants again. Enchanting tables are just pure rng and that is never fun. If they want people to interact with the enchanting table more, just add something that lets you remove or at least reduce the rng.

For example you could have an item slot in the enchating table that lets you guarantee an enchant, maybe put obsidian for unbreaking, or feathers for feather falling, or even turtle scutes for respiration, which would give a use to the practically useless item. This method would make players interact with so many more systems in a non invasive way and it wouldn't be nearly as tedious, as opposed to increasing the tedium tenfold and then reducing the rewards like they're currently doing
