What arbitrary rules do you stick to in your own worlds?

I was watching a fwhip video and he has a rule in his own game that he follows that all of his builds have to be connected by pathways. I have a rule in my mc world that I always make a sign or book of the date for my large builds so I can track my own progress over time.

There's no real reason for these rules other than enjoyment of the game, so I was wondering if any of you also have those same sorts of rules, guidelines, or traditions you follow.
