| Built this with my team to help plan a movie scene, no joke. We recreated a real liquor store in San Jose, California, block-for-block in Minecraft so we could figure out camera angles, actor movement, and lighting before stepping on set. Never thought I’d use Minecraft for film pre-production but it actually saved us hours. I built the liquor store using a bunch of pictures along with Google Street View. Also made a custom texture painting to make all the chips and drinks in the store. Once we finished the build, we used it to design an entire one-take scene inside the store. Then we shot the real version IRL. Here’s the split-screen showing the Minecraft build vs. the real film. Let me know what y’all think or if you’ve ever used Minecraft in a weird creative way like this. submitted by /u/CheesecakeEasy6184 [link] [comments] |
