Established in 2018, Vanilla Europa is one of Europe's longest-running Minecraft SMP servers. We pride ourselves for our friendly and inclusive tight-knit community and our adherence to semi-vanilla Minecraft gameplay. Though we are a European Minecraft server, our community hosts players from all around the world from America to Australia.

The idea behind Vanilla Europa is that it's just a survival server. We don't try to alter the gameplay too much beyond what vanilla-survival already is, as decided by Mojang. However we have added some custom features to enhance the gameplay.

Unique Features (In-depth)​

Singleplayer Mob-Caps and Render-Distance

This server is a breath of fresh air for players (like myself) who are tired of joining "vanilla" servers with disappointingly sparse mobs and low render-distance. We at Vanilla Europa are able to sustain singleplayer mob-caps and render-distance (16 chunks btw) because we run on beefy hardware (Ryzen 9 7950X3D) and cutting-edge software (Folia) which allows us to handle far more entities/chunks than other servers. Because of this, we can reach player-counts of 100+ at 20TPS easily.

7+ Year Old World

Over the course of the 7+ years we've been around, we haven't done any full-map resets of the overworld, meaning players' bases and builds have stayed around (in some form) for years. We don't rely on seasonal resets to manufacture hype since our server is quality enough to actually keep players around. Also, if you're wondering how we react to updates that change world-gen, we just expand the worldborder each update so players can generate new chunks.

Proximity Chat

Since adding this feature, the server has felt twice as immersive as before. Also, as an exclusive feature Vanilla Europa has voice-message functionality. You can send voice-messages into chat or in private-messages for others with the PlasmoVoice mod to hear.

Our Community

Since 2018, Vanilla Europa has built a community that prioritizes good vibes, respect, and collaboration. New players aren’t treated like background noise. People actually talk, trade, help each other out, and invite others into projects. Between regular events, shared towns, and a consistently active playerbase, the server quickly stops feeling like a random public SMP and starts feeling like a place where you recognize names and build alongside familiar faces.

Community Chest-Shop Marketplace

This is one of the most essential features of the server. Players on Vanilla Europa are able to buy and sell items through the chest-shop marketplace at /warp Market. DistantHorizons Server-Side Support

See up to 256 chunks away with DistantHorizons installed. The key thing is that players with the mod installed don't need to travel to chunks first before the LODs are sent, meaning you can join and instantly have a full 360 degree view 512 chunks wide. We're also planning server-side implementation of Voxy as well.
