Unpopular opinion: Minecraft Bedrock Edition was meant as a cash grab and should not exist as it is right now.

Hey guys, probably seen the title and no this isn't ragebait and I'm quite serious about this.

- First I wanna say that I do support a sort of Minecraft for other platforms other than pc on java. I believe that everyone should have a chance at experiencing Minecraft and Minecraft Bedrock uniting all the other platform is a great idea and was well executed but Minecraft Bedrock Edition is just not what the non-java players deserve in my opinion. 4J Studio did what Mojang couldn't for console and this really isn't nostalgia it genuinely felt like more love was put into it.

*Never said they were perfect guys but they were pretty good for their time.

- And now Mojang as made Minecraft Bedrock a shell of it former self marketplace this marketplace that, I honestly feel that it is a bit too present for what is a paid game, it does not offer as much freedom to the player as Java does, they prefer to refine the marketplace instead of fixing the game and the various bugs that players encounter everyday. (I want to make it clear I'm not inherently against the marketplace but it gives of a predatory vibes and lack many features that would make it more friendly toward player and in some way I feel like it is kinda Fortnite-ish)

*I've also been made aware that Bedrock pretty much fund the development of the game and that's probably true but I'm sure there is a point to make here about how Mojang and Microsoft could do a better job and make it less in your face.

- Mojang refuse to deliver on their promises of an open source modding platform/ API on Java and better optimization on Java edition leaving the issue to the players (that's the reason why Fabric, Forge, Neo forge and optimization mod like Optifine and Sodium exist) and many more things that we were promised and that Mojang never delivered on, but hey we have Vibrant Visuals (not yet on Java ) but honestly good for bedrock disappointed with the way they treated the ray tracing though also Copper is useful now.

- Genuinely I don't get what they are trying to do to this game, they have suspiciously starting to place Java Edition in the background, this isn't a conspiracy of how Bedrock is replacing Java, but I can't help but point this out when you see the pretty biased comparison they have on their website. Also having Bedrock be their base for everything they have consistently added with not even a recent post featuring Java outside of the update logs on the site. (I am aware that Bedrock as a bigger share of the player base (9M for Java and 12M for Bedrock) but it does feel like Minecraft Java Edition is a thorn on Microsoft side that they can't monetize and they are trying to undermine as much as they can under the rug.

- Pretty good quality of life features on bedrock that they refuse to bring on Java (simple examples include an official API, the possibility to import outside worlds, better support when it comes to building and simple stuff like leaves turning white when it snow) and guys I know that Bedrock as had trailed behind in term of features like hardcore until pretty recently and is still is from what I know and that it could benefits from some quality of life features that are present on Java like being able to change resource pack on a world pretty much instantly.

The game in itself need to reconsider where they are going with future updates that have not been great lately (I honestly think that the cave and cliff update was the last really good one) there is bunch of items that have no use in the game or so little use that it is like they didn't exist or item that have some use but not enough like gold for example, and even one of the game most important dimension with the end game boss being literally under-developed (The End). Minecraft could benefit from some lore that one is more personal than anything. (Also they could had some more and better mid game boss or mob like the guardians and some more structures)

- Lastly I'm not blindly criticizing or hating on Bedrock (I bought the game and play it on a semi-regular basis with my friends because of its easier multiplayer mechanic and good cross-platform) and I am not saying that Bedrock shouldn't exist at all at the end of the day it is a good thing that it exist as it unifies so much of the player base and give people possibility to play together with friends who are not necessarily on the same platform or do not have the best computer.

But Java is still the beating heart of the franchise due to mods, content, servers, events and all of the things that consistently keep Minecraft alive and it is just sad seeing it being treated like that we do deserve better both on Java and on Bedrock. Because as it is Minecraft in general does seem to go in the average AAA game direction.

*But unfortunately the community might not be ready to visualize this possibility (Sorry I know it is a pretty long rant.)

*Guys I fixed it. Hope it was enough
