Table formatting not preserved after import from Invision Power Board (IPB)

Hello,
After migrating my forum from Invision Power Board (IPB) to XenForo, I noticed that table formatting in posts is no longer preserved. For example, this content:

CAN  CER  CIS  CON  
CRE  GLA  GUE  INC  
ISE  LUS  NER  PIR  
PLA  TAN  TRE  USE

used to display as a properly aligned grid in IPB, but now shows up as a simple vertical list in XenForo.
These tables were either created using BBCode (e.g. [table][tr][td]) or via manual spacing with a monospaced font. Unfortunately...
