Had an idea for a small castle to defend against a pillager raid.

It would need a villager hidden somewhere in the structure with a bed and bell so it classes as a village and triggers the raid upon drinking bad omen bottles.

It would also need beds for players to respawn in, gear to wear, and I think integrating redstone traps would be fun to explore.

Turrets and towers with arrow loops for enfilading fire and cutting out those blind spots.

I think my main concern is the pillagers! How well would they path find into the structure? For example: would they find their way along that wooden bridge in the first image from any approach angle? Would they gather at the bottom of the structure and advance no more? Can they navigate ladders? Would the Vexes kill the villager too quickly?

I’d like the pillagers to be able to “break through” the first layers of defences. For this I could use Vindicators to open or cut down doors in their way, and Ravagers to break any barricades (of leaves) blocking their path. Accessing defensive and engaging with players on the walls and in rooms.

Lots of questions and unknowns on a rather unexplored idea…

In terms of necessity - I just think it’ll be fun if it works! No need for efficiency, just a good fight.

I hope to play some creative soon and find out but I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar idea and explored it further? What other problems can people see happened or have experienced?

I welcome any thoughts, concerns, speculations on this idea!
