Scenario: you're playing with a friend or on a big server. You're at least 10k blocks away from the nearest Savanna, but your friend has a base near there.
It would be great if we could have a mechanism for swapping pet ownership to another player somehow. So then your friend could tame a few spotted wolves from the area near his base and sell them to you. Or we could breed dogs and sell the pups.
Maybe you could tap the dog with a stick, then throw the stick to the other player, now the dog is his.
