| | During the whole time I wasn't playing, I was actually in my 14th-16th century Western Europe phase, and I just started to delve into writing and drawing historically accurate arms and armour, fencing, and stuff. Then I got a random hit of inspiration to make a town... And I made this in Minecraft after 6 years of not playing the game. It took me about 3 days? Yeah, but with a lot of breaks, I get bored easily. Anyways, I used KCD 1 and Medieval Germanic castelology and architecture to base off of. And yeah, this isn't exactly historically accurate, just historically inspired with a lot of creative liberties. Though I did add details like the old grey thatch roofs and the newly patched browner thatch, it's often like this, though not that brown, it's lighter, but I couldn't find a proper substitute. My favorite structures are the Tavern, the Palas (the Lord's Hall, strictly residential), and the Bergfried (a tall defensive tower with little to no living space, and is usually the last line of defense). I'm not really into castelology terms, moreso historical battles (I love the Battle of Vítkov Hill and Kutná Hora) and arms & armour, so I don't what to label this build other than a fortified town with a low-land, Motte-and-Bailey-esque, frontier vibe. I also installed a free furniture add-on from the store. (I play on console, so it's bedrock.) submitted by /u/ShEeEeSh_24535 [link] [comments] |
