 | Yesterday, while trying to optimize my Macbook, I accidentally erased my entire hard drive when I was trying to exit out of an infinite boot screen. I handled the situation like a total idiot, and by the time I had realized what I'd done, it was too late. All my data had been wiped, including a survival Minecraft Java world I had been working on for the past 3 YEARS, which was the most devastating loss. I had everything on that world, the best gear, all of the end-game farms, a society of villagers, and tons of builds I poured hours into. It felt like all that work I did was virtually for nothing. The only glimmer of light from this was that I had a save from 2022, but all the significant progress I made was gone. I cannot stress this enough: ALWAYS make sure to back up your important worlds regularly and save them to a cloud, especially when you are on Java. Its been rough realizing I may never see this world again due to reckless human error, and I just really needed to get this off my chest.
