How do i tell my dad minecraft isnt just about digging holes?

So i have been playing minecraft java with the xbox pc gamepass and recently my dad cancelled it so i have no way of playing it. I put in around 700 hours into the game and i cant play it. I tried asking my dad if he could buy it but he keeps saying that there is no point in this game the last time he played minecraft was like 8 years ago and he doesnt think the game changed at all he thinks if u cant finish or win something it doesnt count as a game. How do i tell him its not just digging holes and placing blocks
