Disabling the version ?_v=

I had a typo in a javascript file, fixed it and I now I can't get the browser download the new file due to this version not updating.

• Site is in dev & debug mode
• All cache is disabled via config, add-ons, browser, etc
• js_cache folder is empty
• Deleting updated js file causes a 401, adding it back, uses the previous ?_v#

None of it reflects updates to the js file.

How do I kill the versioning? Other suggestions?
