Are you tired of joining servers only for them to die off soon after the dragon fight? Feeling like you’re playing single-player on a server because everyone bases thousands of blocks apart? Join the Cherry Valley SMP! We’re just starting out and we’re a strictly 18+ server. Our biggest goal for this server is to create a tight-knit community that lasts as long as possible. 
The server is on version 1.20.1 hard mode and it is hosted in New York, United States. We want the server to have a vanilla feel, but there are some mods and data packs that we carefully selected that we think will enhance the experience in a positive way. We’ve made some big changes to the game that we think will help accomplish one or both of our goals with the server! We know these changes aren't for everyone, but we'd love if you gave them a try!
We removed access to the End and the ability to obtain shulker boxes and elytras. We’ve noticed once people are able to get anywhere they want almost instantly and carry whatever they need in one trip they tend to get bored and quit. Removing shulker boxes and elytras makes doing pretty much everything harder but more rewarding.
We also added the Amplified Nether mod, thus removing the possibility of building farms above the nether. We did this because we want people to build a nether hub and highways around the nether instead of just traveling above it with no obstacles.
We tweaked some of the more OP villager trades, and we've improved how minecarts operate to encourage overworld travel infrastructure as well!
We've started out with a small world border (512x512) to instill a sense of community, but we expand by 32 blocks after our weekly hosted events! (Auctions, Competitions, Game nights... etc.) At these events, players have the opportunity to win server exclusive goodies like cosmetics, specially made items with unique abilities, and more!
