| | It's my first big build! And there is so much more to learn! It's been about 2 or 3 years since I've started it but I don't have that much time to play sadly.. It's a mix of architecture types but it basically should've been inspired by medieval and fantastic towers and houses I guess x) The backstory: the inhabitants of the plains faced a terrible tsunami and they didn't wanted to have anything to do with water anymore (just the bare minimum). They quitted the plains for a volcanic mountains chain, built a city on a volcano and started a business of coal, ores and armors since many other people in the world were scared of fire. It quickly became a rich city and one of the economic centers of the continent. This place is named Argus This quarter is reserved to the administratos of the mine, they live in those houses that the richer people built but quitted because of the smoke that came from the lava falls (and a big tunnel entrance to the mines which is not on the screen). Their job is to control the work of the minors that live in the underground city (which will be inspired by the serie Arcane). On the third slide you can see the begin of a poor quarter where the old and poor people and merchants live. This quarter stops next to the wall that separate this part of the city with the rich upper part. The rich quarter (that need to be built too) will basically be full of big and fancy houses and an airport for the many airships that bring all the supplies the habitants needs to have (water first of all, leather, fish and meat, wood...) The disadvantage for this city is that it isn't self sufficient, there are a bit of farming and agriculture on the side of the extinct volcano but that's all. It makes for the poor life much harder because they can't leave the city and they don't have access to any food so the traders are very well known people. They are a wandering people and sell pretty much everything at every prices, thanks to them this city can stay alive. This is the basic background of Argus, I need to plan so much more ! Any advices, observations are welcome! Thanks for reading submitted by /u/_Zephirr [link] [comments] |
