Why do people keep saying that minecraft has lost its charm?

I don't get it. Minecraft never fails to make me feel that way, the feeling of childhood nostalgia and wonder and excitement! It makes me so happy! Sure, some of the latest updates kinda change things and make it a lot different, and I don't like all of them, but the core is still there, right? Is this whole issue about how like if you had a chariot and kept replacing broken parts, would it be the same chariot? Except, with the game!?

I still love minecraft. I struggle to understand what people dislike.
