You can water log most non-full blocks. You can even snow-log certain plants in bedrock. But we can't lava log items? Especially with copper being added, we now have a lot of metal non-full blocks. I think it would not only make sense, but also be super neat if we could lava log non-burnable non-full blocks. Copper grates are perfect for it!
Also, while we're on the subject, why do we not have as much variety in iron blocks as we do with copper? We have like 4 ron blocks. Pressure plates, bars, full block, and trap door. Giving us some variety with iron should already be a thing. AND, why are there no iron or copper ladders? We've had ladders since way early game, in fact: we're they in alpha? The game has been out for over 10 years, and no iron ladders. I just feel like they are overdue. Especially when we have so much copper, oh my gods there's so much copper. I'm pretty sure the main reason trial chambers are made of copper was so that we could build with them.
