Where do you store the information about the users advertising mailing approval?

We are now required to do so by law in our country.
A few years ago (2020...) we had set up a custom user field- required and set when registering (you can't register without it, but can opt out afterwards), but unfortunately it gets pruned after 60 days.

I am looking for a safer way.
