| Hey everyone, first time poster here. I’ve been casually working on a scale model Minecraft city for the past 5 years and would love everyone’s thoughts on it. I’m attaching a quick fly through video, but if this gets enough traction I’d love to share more videos. This is obviously a super flat world, built in creative. I have done 100% of the build on console. Aside from what you see in the video, here is a list of some (nowhere near all) of the things I’ve built, all with full interiors and interactivity: -9 distinct municipalities, including one main city and 8 suburbs -2 Freeways, one north/south, and one beltway that interchange with each other in two places, each with 12 exits -An airport with 5 planes, 5 gates, baggage claims, security checkpoints, and 9 different food and retail options -15 DMV offices, 2 freeway service plazas, and 3 DOT road yards -7 hospitals ranging from 121 to 432 beds -31 police precincts and facilities, across 11 jurisdictions -An 8-room courthouse -14 Public parks across 4 municipalities -A 20-station, four-line subway system that services all municipalities -30 bank branches across 2 parody brands -An MLS inspired soccer stadium and an NHL inspired ice arena -Two casinos with parody names -A zoo and aquarium -An amusement park -10 bars and nightclubs -232 restaurants across 8 parody brands -74 gas stations across 4 parody brands -51 hotels/motels across 9 parody brands -3 movie theaters ranging from 5 to 8 screens each -45 dollar stores across two parody brands -32 convenience stores -21 superstores and grocery stores across 3 parody brands -6 shopping malls across 5 municipalities, all with anchor stores, food courts, and retail -32 drugstores across 3 parody brands -133 speciality retail stores across 17 parody brands, ranging from pet stores and mattress stores to hardware and electronics stores -A parody university complete with lecture halls, admin buildings, and dorms -Hundreds of houses -Dozens of high rises I’ve built in a huge amount of consistency across chain businesses, standardized road sizes and subway stations, etc, and have spent the past year or so focusing on modifying it for walkability and transit access. let me know in the comments if there’s anything you’d like to see more of! submitted by /u/Willing-Sleep-6605 [link] [comments] |
