Hello! The Anchor is a long-term Java Survival Server built on the idea that it feels good when you can come back to a place and still feel familiarity. The goal is to have a community where it's okay to dip out for a bit, as you'll be just as welcomed on your return.
At its core, The Anchor is vanilla. No game-breaking mechanics, no constant resets, and no plugins that change the core features of Survival. Ranks are built around playtime and can't be maneuvered around with a broken money-making farm or over-the-top Player Shop. The economy is setup by the player-base, and temporarily pushed by a changing Admin Shop. We build around these players --or the "Anchors" of the server-- and rely on the feedback they give after spending the time they do on the SMP. There's a lot in store, and plans I intend on making this place much grander; but everything needs a start. So I hope that you'll find yourself wanting to fill a role like the Anchor, and start up what I believe can be something strong within the Minecraft Community.
