#1. Using a Fortune Pickaxe on Crops Does NOT reduce Pickaxe Durability
If you use a Fortune Shovel, you risk breaking your farm every harvest and will have to start again. I assume this is intended for the Pickaxe to not use durability for crops and this being the main reason why.
#2, A VERY Underrated Trade
Sometimes, a Shepherd can sell you an Emerald for 12 White Dye, easily obtainable by putting Bonemeal in a crafting table and while you may find better uses for Bonemeal, if you decide to cure the Villager down, you can turn a single Bone into three shiny Emeralds, convenient if you have a Skeleton farm or have another convenient way of obtaining tons of Bonemeal.
#3. Use Charcoal for Torches and Smelting
You can get Charcoal by turning some logs into planks and then using the planks to smelt the remaining logs. It has all the same functions of coal, and lets you save up the coal for trading. Normal Coal from Mines and Wither Skeletons is pretty much a necessity to get any Weapon/Armor/Toolsmith trades going unless you want to buy dozens of stone tools so I really recommend saving any you mine until you need to unlock the Diamond tool/armor trades.
#4. For a similar reason, don't use up your starting Iron all at once.
After you unlock the Iron-Emerald trades from the Smiths, You pretty much have to do that trade from there on to be able to unlock diamond trades quickly so stockpiling some for that moment is a pretty smart idea too.
#5 (ONLY FOR JAVA). Put tamed cats in boats or other vehicles.
While it seems weird to dedicate space in your base to just having a bunch of Cats in boats, if you do this on Java Edition, every single tamed cat in a boat will have a chance to drop a gift as opposed to just one cat when you don't and while most of it isn't great, you also get an increased chance of Phantom Membranes, which makes it possible to repair Elytra without Mending as well as brew Slow Falling potions on Peaceful difficulty.
