Obviously Minecraft is awesome, but there are two things that should be added to the game to make it better.

1: A teddy bear. Crafted using a diamond with leather, string and wool, (Diamond just so it is a later game item) which when in your off hand, lets you sleep regardless of monsters being near by.

2: Seasons. I think season would make a beautiful addition to Minecraft. You could see your house get covered in snow, and see the flowers bloom. Not to mention the beautiful fall colours on all the trees.
