| | So basically, I founded my World back in 2012. It started out simple, as it usually does with Minecraft: I just began building. Then it turned into something else: I grew more and more attached to exploration, territorial expansion, and building with a purpose (something the game itself doesn’t really provide). At some point, to keep myself from getting bored, I created an entire political system. At first, there were Kings. Then came democracy: with the First Republic, its decline, dictatorship, the Second Republic, and finally the Federal Republic, with elections every fifty days. And with every death, a new Governor takes power. And the part I love the most is that everything that happens (buildings, squares, political decisions, new constructions for the Villagers) is all written down on paper: dozens and dozens of pages stored in folders and notebooks, preserving 12–13 years of events. At first it was all pretty rough, but over time it became increasingly precise and methodical. There’s also a website (http://www.cismarina.com) that I’m working on updating with as much information as possible about the City (actually, about the three cities) I’ve built. It's built like a tourist guide, and it's really fun to manage it as a side project. I live a normal life, I work, I have a family and I’m all in all a happy guy... but this is my zen garden, my mental construction. It entertains me, helps me escape, and makes me feel good. submitted by /u/GiubenRova [link] [comments] |
