Hello everyone,
Happy Saint Patrick's Day to anyone who celebrates, and welcome to another changelog for NullForums! We’re excited to introduce a new feature to help keep our resources up to date—the Request Takeover button!

What is it?

The Request Takeover button allows users to request control of an existing resource if:
  • The current resource owner is inactive.
  • The resource is outdated and needs maintenance.
  • You are willing to take responsibility for maintaining and updating the resource.

How It Works

  1. Find an outdated or abandoned resource you’d like to update.
  2. Click the Request Takeover button.
  3. This will open a pre-filled message where you confirm your willingness to maintain the resource.
  4. Our team will review your request and take the necessary steps to transfer control if approved.

Why This Matters

Keeping resources up-to-date and functional benefits the entire community. If you stumble upon a resource that needs some love, you now have a quick and easy way to take over and improve it!
If you have any questions about this feature, feel free to ask.

Hey!
This is such a great feature! Keeping resources updated is super important, and this makes it so much easier for the community to step in when something gets abandoned. It's an amazing addition!
A huge thank you to you guys for all the effort you put into making NullForums better! I really appreciate the work 🙌🚀

I'm hoping this helps keep things cleaner as time goes on. If people need to update resources or want to maintain a resource that already exists on the site, this SHOULD make it easier.

Super useful! When I first started uploading resources, there were multiple resources I wanted to keep UTD that weren’t before, and I had to manually ask the staff to transfer ownership. This makes things much easier!

I was trying to update an outdated plugin that I use a lot, and I couldn't get this feature to work. That said, the feature itself is really cool.

You need to be at least level 2 to be able to use this feature.
