Indexing and searching for RM's Team Members

This is sort of a cross-forum topic, but I'm looking for a basic outline of what will need to be done with Elasticsearch in order to correctly index and search for users who are included in XFRM's "Team Members" feature (user_ids in comma delineated list in the team_members_user_ids column of xf_rm_resource).
