First I need to make a circle with a diameter of 128 blocks. Then I made a flat surface of sandstone 2 blocks above the ocean. I use sandstone because it can be quickly demolished. On top of this sandstone I put sand or gravel 20-30 blocks high. Then I destroy the sandstone underneath it and the sand or gravel falls into the ocean. Then I dig a 1x1 hole 20-30 blocks deep and destroy the sand or gravel with torches. Once the hole in the ocean is dug, I build walls to make a tower.
