What do you guys think is the best forum software?

They honestly all have their pros and cons. My favorites, in order, are: XenForo, WordPress, and Invision Community (IPS).

IPS (Invision Community):

• Pros: Excellent for beginners — easy to set up and use right out of the box.
• Cons: Not very developer-friendly. Custom development and extending features can be cumbersome or limited.

WordPress:

• Pros: Fantastic when used headlessly — allows full flexibility for custom coding. Strong SEO capabilities. Still very usable for non-developers with its vast plugin and theme ecosystem.
• Cons: Not designed specifically for forums. Requires third-party plugins or integrations for community features.

XenForo:

• Pros: Best overall balance. Highly developer-friendly with a solid codebase and plugin architecture. Excellent build structure, making custom development intuitive.
• Cons: (Honestly hard to find, but if I had to mention one...) Less beginner-friendly than IPS; might require some technical knowledge to set up or customize extensively.
