| | You might be wondering why I'd ever do this. Well, it all started when I needed glass. I've been trading with villagers for glass, but it's slow unless I have a ton of them. I was wondering about smelting sand, and then I learned that sand isn't renewable (At least without duplication glitches) So I decided to make a datapack that adds sand and red sand to husk loot. The thing is, there aren't many husk farm designs available, so I had to design my own (With some help from others). After several many attempts and farm designs, I finally have a set version that is about as efficient as it can be. The only way to improve the rates would be to make mobs spawn on the spawning platform more often, as making the platform larger doesn't work because the farm relies on turtle eggs. There is one way to make a farm more efficient, and that's to build it lower down. You see where I'm going with this? So I decided I would build my farm at bedrock level to increase the efficiency as much as possible without going to the extent of clearing out a whole perimeter. Most people would use TNT duplicators for something like that, but not me. It's not because I'm completely against glitches, it's just that TNT destroys items when it explodes (At least that's what seems to happen for me). Everything in the chunk is renewable (I added more datapacks to make that true), but even so, destroying everything without collecting the resources feels wrong. Plus, I use deepslate a ton when building, and I'm likely going to need a lot more of it. TNT can also cause the surrounding walls to be rough and jagged, which I also don't want. I ended up deciding to mine the entire thing manually. I spent the next few months working on it bit by bit, 2 layers at a time. My guess is it took at least 100 hours in total, but I'm finally done (Well, kinda). I still have to destroy the last bit of remaining blocks of course, but that's not all. I'm going to destroy all the bedrock too, which is going to take a while as well. Since I can't seem to naturally destroy bedrock (Without building a big machine or having to do it 1 by 1, redstone lag method doesn't work for me), I am adding a datapack that will allow me to turn bedrock into obsidian. However, each pickaxe only lasts 11 hits before I need to repair it fully. The new enchantment can only be applied to netherite pickaxes too. What do I do about this? 27 netherite pickaxes. That way I can do 297 bedrock at a time, repair them all using a guardian farm, then repeat. All this just for a husk farm. After all that, I need to actually build the farm, but it shouldn't be that difficult or time consuming. Anyways, I'm posting this here because of just how much time it's taken me to do this. This is mega-project 1/3 almost done in my Minecraft world. submitted by /u/The-0verseer [link] [comments] |
