Does anyone ever use enchanted golden apples? Or do you just use the more abundant Golden Apple variant?

Does anyone ever use enchanted golden apples? Or do you just use the more abundant Golden Apple variant?

Enchanted Golden Apples suffer from that classic conundrum of being too good to use because they can't be crafted anymore. People regard them as a sacred treasure, better as a display piece than as something actually to be consumed. If you have an extra, it's likely you'll give it to a friend so they have one, rather than consume it yourself in a dire situation. The only thing I could think of keeping a Golden Apple around for is maybe a Warden fight, but even then, why would you when you could have an entire stack of regular Golden Apples at your disposal?

My proposed change to the Enchanted Golden Apple would be as follows:

The crafting recipe would consist of four Blocks of Gold and four Totems of Undying surrounding a Golden Apple. This recipe requires four distinct, single-slot items, plus the additional four Blocks of Gold on top of the existing cost of the normal Golden Apple, allowing for its conversion into an Enchanted Golden Apple.

Another option would involve placing a Golden Apple into an Enchanting Table and consuming a significant number of experience levels to enchant the item. In either scenario, production would require an enormous amount of industry and effort, potentially necessitating the coordination of an entire Minecraft base just to produce a handful of apples.

The primary advantage over the standard Totem of Undying would be stackability. Even with this benefit, Mojang could restrict the stack size to 16, rather than 64.

If these were a reproducible item, players would immediately begin treating them as disposable. They would remain valuable, certainly not something to be wasted, but they would cease to be items permanently displayed on a wall and categorically refused for use, which is their current status.

Currently, on any server that allows player resurrection, players typically prefer to die rather than use their most valuable items. On servers where I have played with friends, we routinely carried Ender Chests to quickly deposit our inventories before intentionally dying, knowing we could retrieve them later.
