Do you inbreed your cows?

I'm having a debate with a friend, and he is convinced it's weird I just randomly breed my cows. (And other animals) I've told him it's normal and no one cares about inbreeding cows in Minecraft. Apparently he "separates them by generation." What do you think?

Edit: Thanks all for pretty much agreeing with me. I don't care what my friend does with his cows, the debate was just over which way was normal.
