Disable Update Notifications in Resource Discussion Forum?

Is there a way to disable the automatic posts in the resource discussion forum when a resource is updated (e.g., 'Author updated resource with entry...')? I'd prefer not to send anything in the forum. Is there a built-in setting to turn this off, or does it require an addon?
