I'm sure this has been discussed many a times before, but I just feel really bummed about it.
Being a player who really looks forwards to the exploration of new survival worlds, I have found the world generation to be incredibly dissappointing, especially when playing in multiple worlds after another.
They all seem to be kinda the same: massive terrain differences, big cave openings everywhere, villages spawing in weird places. The terrain is so massive that it makes it hard to explore or fill out a map. Rivers are the biggest mess. Every time when I leave my well thought out home base I bump into a massive river system where the banks of the rivers are 50 blocks high, difficult to climb, and not fun to play in. It's like the worlds are alway some fjords in norway. And it's really difficult to find big open spaces, like vast deserts or plains without any hills. I feel like the prevalence of these grand features make them less impressive, like they are more in the way than some rare finds to be exited by.
The worlds just dont seem like they are made for playing anymore, and rather are a collection of grandiose sights to take a screenshot of and share on the internet.
