Advertising: CPC or CPM and how much to charge?

I understand that is best for forum/niche (hobbyist and pro musicians) may require some trial and error. But I wondered what others are charging and what you have learned about rates.

What have you found best and how much to charge? I'm thinking of starting out with $1.50 CPC or $4.50 CPM, both with quantity discounts, does that sound reasonable?
